Young Carers

Young Carers are aged 6-18 and provide emotional and physical unpaid care to someone that they live with who has a physical disability, a mental illness, neurodivergence, long term illness effects or any other illness that means everyday life can be difficult.

These children may find that they struggle in school as a result and we want to provide them with as much support and resources as possible.

🎉 We’re Award-Winning! 🎉
We’re proud to announce Leftwich Community Primary School received the Cheshire Young Carers Silver School Award.
This recognition celebrates our commitment to supporting pupils who are young carers — ensuring they feel seen, supported, and empowered every day.  The award was presented by Vice Lord Lieutenant, Mrs Susan Sellars, at a special ceremony held on Tuesday 18 November 2025 at the beautiful Courtyard complex, Eaton Park.  A huge thank you to our staff, students, and Cheshire Young Carers for making this possible. Together, we’re building a more compassionate and inclusive school community.
